The following roles and responsibilities are in the process of being implemented throughout the college. We are constantly aiming for continuous improvement in better serving our roles and responsibilities.
Faculty:
- Speak to AOL Manager about upcoming assessment to coordinate work and ensure proper procedures
- Have students take assessments or provide work
- Use rubrics to assess student work
- Forward student-level assessment results to AOL Manager
- Review assessment results reports for effectiveness of past improvements and need for future improvements
- Make recommendations to improve student learning independently or as part of an improvement team
Department Chairs:
- Work with AOL Manager and Program Directors to assign faculty to conduct assessments
- Take approved improvements from Program Committees and ensure all faculty that teach affected courses implement improvements as needed
Program Directors:
- Assist department chair as needed to assign faculty to conduct assessments
- Take part in Program Committees meetings that affect your program
- Disperse program assessment results to faculty
- Coordinate faculty closing the loop and improvement activities
- Forward faculty improvement recommendations to Program Committees and AOL Manager
- Take approved improvements from Program Committees and ensure improvements implemented
- Work with AOL Manager to ensure accuracy of all program reports
AOL Manager:
- Approach Department Chairs and Program Directors to coordinate assessments
- Work with faculty to ensure proper assessments involving training and conducting meetings
- Analyze faculty assessment results and create Assessment Results Reports
- Communicate assessment results to Program Committees
- Ensure AOL procedures and documentation are in compliance with AACSB and WASC accreditation standards
- Maintain AOL documentation, reports, and website
- Work to improve our AOL processes and student learning
Program Committees:
- Manage overall AOL process
- Review all assessment results and improvement recommendations
- Keep AOL Manager fully informed of all activities and provide assistance as needed
- Work to improve our AOL processes and student learning
Curriculum Committee:
- Review recommendations by Program Committees
Dean:
- Review recommendations Program Committee
- Provide AOL resources as needed
